Looking Back: La Boqueria Market and The Magic Fountian

One of the highlights of Barcelona was going to the huge market off of Las Ramblas. Las Ramblas is the main tourist street with lots of street vendors and good shopping, and it leads from the heart of the city to the coastline. An offshoot of Las Ramblas leads to the market. The market itself was so full of life, with so many colors, smells, sounds, and goods being sold, I could have spent hours there. The best thing by far was the fresh juice. It was so delicious, I bought two of them!

yes, those are whole rabbits and birds.

yes, those are little hearts for sale.

We also got to see this show at the Magic Fountain. Basically it was a 20 minute show with music and lights and water and it was a nice break after walking all day long. The Magic Fountain was at the end of this long street lined with fountains, leading up to the Palau NacionĂ¡l.

A little taste of the show.

In front of the museum.

The fountains and steps leading up to The National Palace, now used as a museum. I loved getting the chance to listen to the local music that accompanied the show.
